Pay4U legal
Terms of Service
These terms form the agreement between you and Pay4U when you create an account or use any part of the platform.
Last updated: 2 September 2026
1. Who we are
Pay4U is a financial technology platform that helps people and businesses in Nigeria organise income into purpose wallets, fund recurring debits and forecast cash-flow. Pay4U is not a bank. Regulated services such as account issuance, card issuance and payment processing are provided by licensed partners.
2. Demo mode
The current environment is a demonstration. Wallet balances, mandates, virtual cards, notifications and transactions are simulated. No live funds are received, held, allocated or disbursed, and nothing displayed should be relied upon as a record of a real payment.
3. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract.
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current.
- You are responsible for the security of your credentials and for activity on your account.
- You must tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
4. Wallets, allocation rules and mandates
Allocation rules, funding schedules and mandate settings are instructions you configure. You remain responsible for the accuracy of those instructions, for maintaining sufficient balance, and for the consequences of pausing, cancelling or under-funding a recurring debit.
5. Fees
Applicable fees are shown before you confirm an action and in your plan settings. We will give reasonable prior notice of fee changes. Third parties such as banks, card schemes and billers may charge their own fees.
6. Acceptable use
You must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy and all applicable Nigerian law, including anti-money laundering and sanctions requirements. We may suspend or restrict access where we reasonably suspect fraud, illegality, or a risk to other users or to the platform.
7. Service availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, provider outages and network failures can delay payments. We will communicate material incidents through in-app notifications and, where enabled, WhatsApp or email.
8. Intellectual property
Pay4U and its logos, interface designs, and software are owned by Pay4U or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the platform for its intended purpose.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pay4U is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or lost business opportunity. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, such as liability for fraud.
10. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, legal or regulatory requirements, or unmanageable risk. On termination we retain records for the periods required by law.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes are subject to the process in our Complaints & Dispute Resolution policy before escalation to the Nigerian courts.
